15 days Gilf Kebir Plateau Safari

Day 1
Arrival in Cairo International Airport. Transfer to a 3-stars hotel. Check in and overnight.

Day 2
After breakfast drive from Cairo to Farafra Oasis by minibus. Lunch on the way in Bahariya Oasis at a local restaurant. Arrive in Farafra Oasis, dinner at the Badawiya Hotel Farafra. Before sleeping, you can bathe in the hot spring Bir Setta just outside the oasis. Back to the Badawiya Hotel Farafra and overnight.

Day 3
After breakfast drive to Dakhla Oasis, where you visit El Qasr, the old Islamic city, lunch, dinner and camping at Abu Ballas..

Day 4
After breakfast drive to Eight Bells, lunch, dinner and camping.

Day 5
After breakfast drive to the prehistoric remains along the Prince Kemal El Din's track and to the Clayton Craters (featuring moonlike structures), lunch, dinner and camping (approx. 100 km).

Day 6
After breakfast drive to Gebel Uweinat, lunch, dinner and camping (approx. 70 km).

Day 7
After breakfast, you reach Uweinat's most outstanding valley, Karkur Talh, a landscape of Precambrian rocks (some of the oldest rocks in Africa), eroded sandstone pillars (similar to those of the Tibesti Massif). Explore the amazing vegetation in one of the world's most arid locations. Examine the Prehistoric rock paintings, lunch, dinner and camping.

Day 8
After breakfast drive to Wadi Sura (the Swimmer's Cave) and the Mestekawi Cave, lunch, dinner and camping.

Day 9
After breakfast drive to the Gilf Kebir Plateau and the Wadi Abdel Malek, lunch, dinner and camping.

Day 10
After breakfast drive to Wadi Gubba, lunch, dinner and camping.

Day 11
After breakfast drive to the Silica Glass area, lunch, dinner and camping.

Day 12
After breakfast drive to the Great Sand Sea, lunch, dinner and camping.

Day 13
After breakfast drive to Ain Della and Qos Abu Said, where you have lunch, on to Farafra, dinner and overnight at the Badawiya Hotel Farafra.

Day 14
After breakfast drive back to Cairo City by minibus. You take a little break at the Crystal Mountain and the Black Desert, then you proceed and have lunch at a local restaurant in Bahariya Oasis. You continue driving towards Cairo City. Arrival before sunset, drop off at a 3-stars hotel.

Day 15
After breakfast transfer to the Cairo International Airport.

Minimum group size: 7 persons
