Sailing Safari
(Luxor - Aswan - Luxor)
Day1
Arrive at the Luxor airport. Transfer
to a 3-stars hotel and check-in. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2
After breakfast transfer to Aswan by
minibus. In Aswan you visit with a guide
the High Dam, the unfinished
Obelisk and the Temple of Philae,
which was dedicated to the Goddess Isis.
Lunch on the way at a local restaurant. Then you visit
the colorful souq in Aswan.
After that you go to the Elephantine Island with
the felucca. Dinner and overnight on board the felucca.
Day 3
After breakfast you hike along the canals that cross the
Nubian villages on the west bank of the
river and see the Nubian architecture
and traditional handcrafts. You have lunch on the way
at a local restaurant. In the afternoon and evening you
are sailing, dinner and overnight on board the felucca.
Day 4
After breakfast you hike to the Daraw market,
a very animated and colorful place, where you see many
Egyptians from Upper Egypt in their traditional dresses.
You have lunch and then sail to Kom Ombo.
Visit the temple, dedicated to the Crocodile God
and the Falcon God. Then sailing,
dinner and overnight on board the felucca.
Day 5
After breakfast you hike for three hours along the canals
under the shade of the date palms and fruit trees. Climb
to a small plateau and enjoy the view
from the desert dominated by the curves of the majestic
Nile. Continue to the pharaonic quarries of Silsileh.
Visit the quarries and the Tomb of Horemheb.
Lunch on the way at a local restaurant. Then sailing,
dinner and overnight on board the felucca.
Day 6
After breakfast you sail to Edfu. Visit
the Temple of Horus with a guide and
then drive by minibus to Luxor. Check-in
at a 3-stars hotel on the west bank of the river at Gourna.
Lunch and a visit the temple complex of Medinat
Habu with a guide. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon
on your own. Dinner and overnight at a 3-stars hotel.
Day 7
After breakfast you visit the Valley of the Kings
and the Temple of Hatshepsut with a guide.
Lunch. In the afternoon, you cross the Nile with the local
ferry and then enjoy a ride on a horse-drawn carriage
and visit Karnak with a guide. Spend
the rest of the afternoon as you like. Overnight at a
3-stars hotel. In the evening, you have the possibility
to visit the Temple of Luxor or to attend
the Sound and Light show at Karnak (optional,
at your expense).
Day 8
After breakfast Transfer to Luxor Airport.
