7 DAY JEEP SAFARI IN THE WESTERN DESERT
DAY
ACTIVITY
Day 1:
Drive from Cairo via Bahariya Oasis (360 km) by minibus, lunch break on the way (at Palma Village Hotel). Afterwards we get into the jeep and start the desert safari. Drive to the Bir Ghaba Hot Spring, where we can take a relaxing bath under the stars. Dinner and overnight camping.
Day 2:
After breakfast we continue on our way to the White Desert. Lunch in the small Tab Lamun Oasis. We visit the Crystal Mountain and reach the White Desert. Dinner by the open fire and camping at El Akabat (Sharg = East).
Day 3:
After breakfast we drive to Ain Serru = Magic Spring (Sharg = East), where we can refresh ourselves with the cold water, relax in the shade of the trees and have lunch. We continue to the famous Mushrooms (Sharg = East), where we have dinner and stay overnight. This site is especially impressive during a full moon.
Day 4:
After breakfast we leave the White Desert and drive to the Sand Dunes (Sharg = East), lunch, dinner, camping in this place of infinite space and silence.
Day 5:
After breakfast we drive to Farafra, the smallest oasis of the New Valley. Visit at the Farafra Art Museum. Walk in the palm tree gardens around Farafra, lunch. In the evening we can bathe in the hot spring Bir Setta just outside the oasis. Dinner and accommodation at El Badawiya Hotel, built in traditional Egyptian style.
Day 6:
After breakfast we visit Barani (Gharb = West) in the White Desert and spend the day relaxing or hiking in this surreal landscape, lunch. One last night dinner and camping under the stars at Guani (Gharb = West).
Day 7:
After breakfast return to Cairo by minibus. We take a little break at the Crystal Mountain, then we proceed and have our lunch box at the Cafeteria El Heiz. We continue and take another little break at the Black Desert. Arrival at Cairo before sunset.
